Today is Labor Day, which marks the official end of summer (by whose standard I don't know, because I'm pretty sure my jeans will stay buried in my dresser for at least another month). Our family has had a pretty good weekend. The temperatures finally cooled off into the mid-80s, nice enough to spend some much needed work time outside. Hubby T and I (okay, mostly Hubby T) vacuumed and washed both cars, cleaned the gutters, and pressure washed the mold off the back of our house, all of which desperately needed to be done. Yay for getting caught up on long neglected projects!
Today is Hubby T's last week-day home until Election Day and I must confess, I'm very ready for him to go back to work. I love family time, but we've had a lot of it this summer and I'm ready to settle into my stay-at-home-mom routine with the babies. My double stroller came on Saturday and I was accepted into a playgroup last week, so I'm looking forward to some fun outings with Baby B and Baby D in the next couple weeks.
But to wrap up summer, I wanted to share a couple of my favorite new recipes I discovered this summer. Instead of posting the recipes on my blog, I'm going to share the link to the blogs I found them on, because I want to give credit where credit is truly due for these wonderful foods. Happy eating!!
White Cheddar Yogurt Cornbread - this cornbread is unlike any other cornbread you've ever had, it's super moist and delicious, and you'll never want boring dried out old cornbread again!
Summer Succotash Quesadillas with Nacho Mmmm Sauce - the name of this sauce is what helped inspire the name of this blog, and this recipe truly is super mmmm
Summer Corn and Avocado Salad - this recipe is super easy and super delicious and super wonderful to take to a party with friends (like I did yesterday!:)
