For the love of squash

Today was rainy. Cloudy and rainy, all day. So in the midst of nap times, diaper changing times, lunch and bottle times, and keeping Baby B and Baby D from crawling all over each other times, we roasted a butternut squash!

I wasn't planning on cooking butternut squash this week, but when all squashes were on sale for 79 cents per pound last weekend, I couldn't resist picking up this baby sized squash. Squash is definitely one of the reasons that I love fall. We had our first butternut squash of the season two weeks ago when I made Roasted Butternut Squash and Black Bean Enchiladas (so yummy, highly recommend them!). So with no specific meals plans for the baby squash and all the rain outside and nothing else to cook inside, we had squash for lunch! And dinner! Baby B isn't loving it as much as I'd like, but I keep telling him that he'll grow to love it.

I'm also hoping that he'll grow to love his new sippy cup! We bought his first sippy cup at Target yesterday.

He's kind of figuring out how to hold the handles, although most of the time he picks it up by the spout. What he definitely hasn't figured out is that you have to tip the cup up to get any liquid out! He just sits there sucking up air, which fortunately hasn't led to too many burps or hiccups (yet). Like I said, we're hoping he learns to love it, almost as much as he loves this guy.

What a great way to start the weekend:)
